So, it begins....
NaNoWriMo is starting again and as a way to push myself, I decided to make a (nother) blog but exclusively for it. Usually I make a blog for every different story that I'm writing, my effort to "organize", but since I'm always doing NaNoWriMo I might as well as a blog for it.
I'll be bitching about this event, broadcasting how I write and declaring word count and what I usually do while writing, when I'm not writing, when I'm procrastinating all through the month. Will also put up some excerpt from the story I'll be writing. It'll be a new experience for me since I usually just hunker down and hibernate as I write...it will be interesting.
I'm going to write a genre that I haven't tried before: futuristic crime thriller set in my hometown Pekanbaru, Riau. It's not going to be pure sci-fi since it'll only be a couple of years ahead of our time today, but there will be some interesting developments, especially since I will incorporate what is currently happening right now. Pekanbaru, as you can see in the news, is blanketed by smoke as a result of corporations burning forests to open up land for further farming, people, children most especially, are dying as a result of it. The airport is closed, neighboring countries are enraged, the people are angry for the lack of governmental effort to either punish the perpetrators or solving the problem that has happened yearly. Artificial rain is demanded to deal with the haze but so far, rain has done nothing to cleanse the air.
I will not be surprise if riots will happen soon. Heads will roll.
